Millennials United- 77 Million Strong
E Pluribus Unum
Many Voices, One Mission
Today many millennials believe their voices don’t matter, politics is a rigged system, and both parties, yes democrats and republicans, are beholden to big money donors. Laws are passed not for us but for them. Voting to many has become futile. What can my voice, one lonely voice, one poor broke lonely voice do? Maybe something or maybe nothing, but what if we fight fire with fire, what if we become a political force, a large diverse corporation of sorts, and unite 77 million voices into one voice, The Voice of the Millennials. What if 77 million donate to a PAC that advocates for them, wielding the power of the largest generation in our history. Now is the time, we cannot sit idly by and watch the generation ahead of us, the baby boomers, make decisions that will directly affect our lives for many years to come, with no input from us. The fight ahead is not a party fight, it’s a generational fight. Most of those in power today hail from the great baby boomer’s generation. While they’ve done some remarkable things for the country, it is time for them to step aside and let the next generation take the reins.
Baby boomers’ perceptions of us are simply wrong. We hear stereotypes about us all the time, oh millennials are all the same, they all want trophies, we only work well in digital spaces, we are disconnected from reality, we aren’t loyal, we are lazy and complacent, we can’t follow directions, and lastly, we are selfish the me, me, me, generation. To all of you who think this, we call bull shit. In a world that is rapidly changing, it is us who adapt and change with it. We are leading the change not fighting against it. We are not stuck in the past, we are the generation of today and the future. We will not be kept in check, pushed around, bullied, or made to feel we don’t matter. Intruste Group is a vehicle to not only gain access to the debate, but to participate and direct a movement towards a direction that supports our core beliefs.
We will no longer accept a minority role in our government, we will no longer accept others making life decisions for us, we will no longer accept a seat at the kiddy table, if we are going to be saddled with the decisions of today, we are going to have our say in those decisions.
It is here that Intruste Group can play an all-important role. We are the Political Action Committee for all American families, including the younger generations, who we see as our countries future. We understand not everyone can be directly involved. Your lives are crazy hectic. In between working 40 to 50 hours a week, planning your lives, getting married, having children, raising a family and worrying every day that you may not make it, teetering on disaster. You simply don’t have anymore time to give, after all you would like to sleep a few hours a night. While this is all true, you have something previous generations have not, technology. With a click of a button you can see in real time current events taking place. You can respond collectively using technology with minimum amounts of time required. You can stay up to date on pressing issues and make sure you are represented in the solutions, solutions that will fall squarely on your shoulders going forward. We can not do it without your participation, we must be aware and engaged and prepared to fight at every step for our rights. For the ones who can’t give any time, give a few dollars, donate to the cause. Let’s rig the system in our favor for once. Let’s use the laws that were pushed without our participation work in our favor. Let’s become a group of big money donors. If we are well educated, well informed, and well-funded, we can go toe to toe with other big money donors.
Intruste Group calls on all millennials to get engaged and involved. Our very existence depends on it. Without it we are going to be fleeced by the generation ahead of us. Collectively and only collectively can we have a say in our future. For those who can spare an hour here and there, show up and make your voice heard. We are looking for leaders that will promote economically and socially our core beliefs. It is our job to find, promote, and get elected officials from our generation, that hold the same beliefs we do. Our generation represents almost 25% of the population, we are a major force in the jobs market. Yet our generation only holds 5 seats in Congress and zero, yes 0, in the senate. We do not fair any better at the local levels. The average age of congress is 58 and it is projected at the current level’s millennials will not control congress until 2035. That’s right 17 years from now. Most millennials will be in their mid to late 40’s, but those in power today, will no longer be with us. They will leave behind their mess for us to fix. Today’s problems, if not addressed in real terms, will be catastrophic 17 years from now. If we do not get involved today, there will be no one to blame but ourselves and we will prove them right we were complacent and lazy. Together we can make a difference, please join us in OUR cause and make sure your voice, the voice of the Millennials is heard.
First and foremost, we must be engaged and informed. Informed on political, social, and economical issues that affect our lives. Being informed will help us target our resources to promote favorable or unfavorably legislation that directly affects us. Legislative changes can have short term and long term affects for our generation. It is easy to dismiss legislation that today or tomorrow will not affect us, but what I’ve come to learn is, decisions that we make today may not affect us tomorrow but affect us 10 years down the road. We need to keep our eye keenly on legislation that impacts today, tomorrow and deep into the future.
To accomplish our goals, we must first acknowledge our core principals. There is no order to the principals, one is no more important than another, we will simply list our core policies and will advocate for each as if it were our number one principal. The list will not be all encompassing and will change as issues are resolved or come up. We understand some issues are of higher importance to some members and not others. We must remain committed to moving all positions forward and collectively and only collectively can we accomplish this. As members of the millennial generation comment on issues posted on our web site please identify yourself as millennials. Our core values will become obvious. Our strength is in numbers if we allow outside influence to splinter the group, our ability to effect real change will splinter with it. Grid lock is not a solution.
